The result was a reception that felt less like a traditional wedding and more like an exclusive members' club, where incredible music, rich textures and immersive lighting combined to create one of the most atmospheric spaces we've produced.

Sometimes, it's about creating an atmosphere that feels deeply personal.
The vision for this luxury wedding at Four Seasons Hampshire centred around rich burgundy tones, elegant lighting and a carefully curated soundtrack. Every design decision was made to encourage guests onto the dancefloor while maintaining an intimate, sophisticated feel throughout the evening.
With legendary DJ sets from Jazzie B, Andy Bell, and the bride's own father taking to the decks, music naturally became the focal point of the room.
Our production design reflected exactly that.
Transforming the Mandeville Ballroom
Rather than allowing the scale of the ballroom to dominate, we softened the architecture with full-height burgundy velvet draping, creating a cocoon-like environment that immediately changed the character of the space.
The luxurious velvet absorbed light beautifully, eliminating the vastness of the room and replacing it with something far more inviting.
The result was a venue that felt closer to an intimate jazz lounge than a traditional hotel ballroom—perfect for a stylish evening celebration.
A Bespoke DJ Booth Designed for the Occasion
One of the standout features of the reception was the custom DJ booth.
Instead of using a standard frontage, we created a bespoke installation featuring:
A handcrafted timber frame
A ruched burgundy velvet insert
A custom LED neon sign displaying Soul Bossa Nova
The layered velvet introduced texture and depth, while the warm neon glow became an instant focal point throughout the evening.
This simple combination elevated the DJ position from functional equipment into a genuine design feature that perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic.
Elegant Wedding Lighting with a Contemporary Edge
Lighting was designed to feel dramatic without ever becoming overpowering.
Behind the DJ booth, angled LED battens created striking architectural lines that framed the performance area, while carefully positioned moving lights added movement and energy as the evening progressed.
The overall effect was:

Soft washes that enhanced the richness of the velvet draping
